Unique Recipes to Celebrate National Sauce Month

March is National Sauce Month, and we have just what you need to enjoy India’s most celebrated flavors. Our three simmer sauces are each the perfect blend of fresh ingredients that make it easy to create traditional Indian meals right at home, and great for creative fusion fare.

Butter Sauce

We love Butter Simmer Sauce for its silky texture, rich taste, and complex blend of flavor and spice. Roasted fenugreek adds a sweet, nutty flavor to its buttery tomato base, reminiscent of maple syrup and burnt sugar.  The complexity of the sauce makes it great for brunch dishes, like a galette, pasta sauces, and more.

For a savory pastry, perfect for any time of day, this Samosa Galette, from Blend of Spices by Sara, incorporates sour cream into the pastry dough. That extra bit of tang is the perfect compliment to nutritious veggies and our creamy butter sauce.

Tikka Sauce

Bright and savory, our vegan Tikka Simmer Sauce is crafted with tomato, ginger, garlic, coconut milk, and fragrant, freshly roasted Indian spices.  It’s perfect for a chicken tikka masala, but also lends itself well to pizza, as a marinade, and even for stuffed peppers.

Have you ever tried Naan Pizza? Simply swap out a traditional pizza sauce with our Indian-spiced Tikka sauce for a delicious take on an Italian classic. View the full recipe on Epicurious.

Coconut Kerala Sauce

Otherwise known as ‘Moilee’ in Kerala, our Coconut Kerala sauce lets sweet coconut and caramelized onion shine. The flavors balance an aromatic bouquet of dried red chilis, fresh curry leaves, toasted cumin, fenugreek, coriander and turmeric in this mouthwatering sauce. It’s perfect for cooking eggs, compliments any fish dish, and is excellent with seasonal veggies.

Keralan Shrimp Tacos are a delightful Indian-Mexican fusion dish. Coconut Kerala sauce is just what you need to to create a mouthwatering glaze on the shrimp. Top each taco with fresh mango for some sweetness, white onions for a little bit of bite, and crisp cabbage tie it all together. View the full recipe on Epicurious.
