DOSA was founded in San Francisco in 2005, inspired by the savory, fermented South Indian crepe, ‘dosa’, made from lentils and rice flour. Over the years, DOSA grew to four Bay Area restaurants with twelve consecutive years of Michelin awards under its belt. dosa by DOSA was later founded in 2017 to share the brand’s favorite, regionally-inspired food and beverages with the rest of America.

Anjan Mitra

Ever since he left Bombay at age 18 to study in the U.S., Anjan has always sought to recreate the wonderfully aromatic and complex flavors of his mother’s cooking. After 19 years as a software engineer, he co-founded DOSA in 2005. Having found his passion as an entrepreneur and a foodie Anjan is continually working on new ventures.

Emily Gilels

Born and raised in New York, Emily moved to San Francisco after university and fell in love with the local agriculture and food scene in Northern California. Traveling in India, Emily became inspired by the light, healthy, tropical flavors from the south and decided to build America’s first upscale, modern Indian brand around regional Indian cuisine.
